A Vile Night at MSG

There’s not a lot to be said about Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally that hasn’t already been said. It was filled with the usual rhetoric demonizing other people and glorifying Donald Trump. But also, apparently, the theme of the night was “vileness.”

A comedian known by the stage name of “Kill Tony” made a much-criticized remark about Puerto Rico, and a reference to black people and watermelons.

But believe it or not his routine could have been even more crude had he not been asked to remove one of his other so-called jokes.

Businessman Grant Cardone told the crowd that, and I quote, Harris “and her pimp handlers will destroy our country.”

Tucker Carson was on hand to say that it’s going to be hard for Trump supporters like him to believe the election results if Harris wins, which we already know. He also called Harris low IQ, because these people mimic what Trump says.

New York radio host Sid Rosenberg ranted about expletive illegals getting what they want, and called Hillary Clinton a “Jew hater” and a sick expletive, and said the Democratic Party were “a bunch of degenerates, lowlifes, Jew haters, and low lives.”

New York Republican David Rem held up a crucifix and called Harris the Antichrist, which the crowd wholeheartedly agreed with. To be fair, though, I doubt anyone in the audience was actually familiar with what the Bible says on this topic.

Incidentally, the Trump campaign described David Rem as a childhood friend of Trump, however Rem himself said that he just met Trump a few weeks back. It would seem as if someone is lying, and my money is on the Trump campaign.

The surreal event included former professional wrestler Hulk Hogan and TV psychologist Dr. Phil. Politicians included House Speaker Mike Johnson and Reps. Byron Donalds and Elise Stefanik, and an artist who painted a picture of Trump hugging the Empire State Building.

Hulk Hogan made a couple of vile remarks that I’m not going to repeat, but he did make a strange reference to how “the energy of all of these Trump-a-maniacs is the most powerful force in the universe.” I would beg to differ on that.

Other speakers to tell us how great and powerful Donald Trump is included Elon Musk, JD Vance, Rudy Giuliani, Stephen Miller, Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Lara Trump, and a rare appearance by Melania Trump, who introduced her husband.

Before Trump came on stage, clips from the movie Patton played on the screen, but at least they kept the reference to the early 1940’s and didn’t go back just a few years prior, say to the year 1939.

When Trump finally spoke, he gave us his greatest hits – including the current #1 on the MAGA charts, which is called “The Enemy Within.” Trump also found time to demonize the press, and also referred to them as the enemy within.

As we all should know by now, when Donald Trump speaks of the enemy within, he isn’t speaking of the enemy of our constitution, or the enemy of our country – but of the enemies of Donald Trump.

Trump made a strange remark while looking at House Speaker Mike Johnson:

“We gotta get the congressmen elected and we gotta get the senators elected because we can take the Senate pretty easily, and I think with our little secret we’re going to do really well with the House, right? Our little secret is having a big impact.”

It’s hard to say exactly what Trump’s so-called little secret is, although there is plenty of evidence that republicans have been investigating every possibility to ensure a Trump victory.

The election is now just one week away, and I’ll be back in a couple of days with a look at some of the hair raising scenarios that might be in store. Thanks for watching and I’ll talk to you guys soon. ♦
