Trump Gold Lapel Pins

In case any of us need yet another example of the Cult of Personality surrounding Donald Trump, there appears to be a new way for conservative lawmakers to show their undying loyalty to The Don. And this one is truly unbelievable.

Meet Brendan Carr. He is the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, which regulates radio, TV, internet, satellite, and cable in the United States.

This is also Brendan Carr, and in case you didn’t notice, instead of a U.S. flag on his lapel, he is wearing a gold pin depicting the bust of Donald Trump. Yes, you heard that correctly. He is wearing a gold pin depicting the bust of Donald Trump.

Several people on X are referring to the golden pin of Trump as “MAGA Maoism” since it echoes the Chairman Mao badge, which was ubiquitous in the People’s Republic of China in the late 1960’s and early 70’s.

There were also several reports online that members of Trump’s cabinet, as well as conservative members of congress, are being encouraged to wear this pin – although I haven’t seen confirmation of this.

I also have not seen anyone other than Brendan Carr with this gold pin on, although it’s only been in the last couple of days since Carr’s image was posted on social media, so if there are other lawmakers doing the same, we should expect to see that over the next week.

All in all, it’s almost TOO difficult to believe that conservative lawmakers would actually walk around with a gold pin of Donald Trump on their lapels. But “almost” is the key word key, because they’ve already bowed down to Trump on just about every single thing.

They’re already wearing hats in congress which say that Trump was right about everything. They’re already talking about putting his image on money, or his face on Mount Rushmore. They’re already elevating him above other men to the point of worship.

So none of this should surprise us. After all, a gold pin of Trump is just another way for them to worship him. And it will have to suffice until they build the gold statue. ♦
