This is just a quick video to answer a question that has been coming up more and more over the last few weeks, for whatever reason, which is “will the Antichrist be attractive?”, or “isn’t the Antichrist supposed to be attractive?
That question arises a lot on my videos because it’s used as an argument against Donald Trump being the Antichrist, since, in this argument, the actual Antichrist is to be young, smart, charismatic and attractive.
Those things, however, come from the Left Behind books and movies, and other Hollywood fiction. They are most certainly NOT taught in the Bible.
The closest the Bible comes to saying that the Antichrist is attractive is in Daniel 7:20, where in a couple of translations it is rendered it as his “appearance was greater than his fellows.” For example, here is the New King James translation.
However most of the other translations, including the King James, render the verse as either “more stout than his fellows” or “larger in appearance than its associates.”
The meaning of Daniel 7:20 isn’t that the Antichrist will be an attractive or handsome figure. After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and everyone around the world would never agree that one specific person is attractive.
Rather, the teaching is the Antichrist will be a bigger-than-life figure, and this goes alongside such descriptions as him having the mouth of a lion, and having an ego so extreme that he will eventually proclaim himself to be God. Or in my opinion, the savior of the world.
The stout description in the KJV also alludes to him being heavyset, so there is the connotation that he will stand out in every way. Whether physically, or with the mouth of a lion speaking great things, or even an ego far exceeding others.
We should also remember that the Bible describes the Antichrist as a VILE person, which means not only that he a sordid, repulsive figure in the eyes of others, but that they will also revile him. He would be more accurately described as unattractive.
