GOP Silent After Trump Meets West and Fuentes

So I just want to briefly followup on my last video about Trump meeting Nick Fuentes and Kanye West for dinner, and I have to admit that it was a bit unsettling to read some of the comments, which kind of exposed the dark underbelly of Christianity.

To put it bluntly, there are too many professed Christians who are wrapped up in White Nationalism, antisemitism, and other extreme beliefs, which are simply antithetical to what true Christianity is all about.

That video also caused a number of people to unsubscribe from my channel. If you’re one of those who unsubscribed, all I can say is to please STOP poisoning your Christian faith with any kind of race-based belief. We are ALL God’s children, no matter the color of our skin or our ethnicity.

We should all remember this verse from Acts: “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.” – Acts 10:34-35

Anyway, to quote Forest Gump, that’s all I have to say about that.

Moving on, an article yesterday on Axios outlined how republican lawmakers have largely remained silent in the wake of Trump’s dinner with West and Fuentes, demonstrating yet again how Trump rules the GOP by fear.

According to Axios, “Spokespeople for nearly two dozen House and Senate Republicans – including party leaders, co-chairs of caucuses and task forces focused on Judaism or antisemitism and sponsors of legislation to combat antisemitic hate crimes – did not respond to requests for comment.”

The article goes on to say that “The dynamic highlights the stranglehold Trump still has on the Republican Party outside a small group of vocal critics, even in the aftermath of poor performances by his handpicked candidates in the midterm elections.”

Of course, a big part of that silence is that many in the GOP are still hoping that Trump will simply self-destruct at some point. But, that’s basically the same approach that many of them had back in 2016, and we know what happened since then.

One notable exception is Mike Pence, who today called on Trump to apologize.

“President Trump was wrong to give a white nationalist, an anti-Semite and a Holocaust denier a seat at the table. And I think he should apologize for it and he should denounce those individuals and their hateful rhetoric without qualification.”

Needless to say, Trump won’t be apologizing any time soon, or any time at all, but we can reasonably expect him respond to Pence at some point. After all, Trump views Pence as a traitor, so although he won’t say anything about Nick Fuentes, he will almost certainly lash out at Pence.

There is also a report that Trump repeatedly refused to disavow Fuentes after they spoke over dinner, fearing he might alienate a section of his base – a prime example that Trump innately understands that many of his hard-core followers have far-right beliefs.

But more than that, it also illustrates how Trump doesn’t care what people actually believe, just as long as they praise him in some manner. And Trump’s insatiable need for praise is an open invitation for far-right groups to become a part of his inner-circle.

What we’re seeing with the GOP’s silence on this is their recognition that no one can fight against the beast, just as the bible tells us will happen with the Antichrist.
