The Glorification of Donald J. Trump Continues Unabated

We’ve almost become immune to how completely Donald Trump dominates the news cycle anymore. His name and image are simply saturated in every aspect of our media, despite the fact that he’s been out of power for over two years.

Beyond just his name and image being seen or heard nearly everywhere, there’s also a much more disturbing trend in recent years – and that trend is the promotion of the idea that the only one who CAN save us is Donald J. Trump.

You may remember Wayne Allen Root from a couple of years back. He was the gentleman who stated that Trump is viewed as the second coming of God in Israel. Unsurprisingly, Trump thanked Root for the comment, as if he was acknowledging a truth

Well, today Wayne Allen Root took it a bit further in an article on The Gateway Pundit. In the article, Root said this about Trump:

“Trump is the only human being on earth who can defeat the Deep State and save our nation.”

Think about that for a second. Trump is the only human being on planet earth who can save America. Can you imagine a time in the past when such a statement would have been said about ANY other person.

Root then added this part:

“We need a miracle. We need God. Trump is that miracle. Trump is that gift from God.”

The only thing missing as of right now is Trump referencing this quote on his Truth Social account. That does seem inevitable, because if there’s one thing we know about Trump is that he LOVES to be praised. And calling him a gift from God is about the highest praise one can get.

But here’s the thing: none of this is new. This glorification of Donald Trump has been going on for the past few years within the MAGA community, who have consistently and unapologetically elevated Trump above others. And yet it started out slowly.

At the beginning, his supporters, and Trump himself, used to call him the best president since Reagan. Then he became the best president since Lincoln. Then he became the greatest republican president ever – until finally he was simply the greatest president in American history.

After the 2020 election we started to hear that “Trump can save America”, which soon morphed into ONLY Trump can save America. Now Trump is talked about in terms of being the only person on planet earth who can save us. He is in a league of his own.

And yet Christians, who overwhelmingly support Trump, very rarely push back against this glorification of Trump. In fact, many agree with the idea that things are terrible in this country, and only Trump can save America. But that’s not where it ends.

Now, Trump himself has added a new wrinkle to the idea that he is the savior of only America. That wrinkle is world peace, as he commented on Truth social that only he can prevent world war three and bring peace to Europe and the world.

But again, these statements by Trump and his hardcore MAGA followers are not causing most Christians to question their allegiance to him, despite the fact that calling him savior is clearly blasphemous, and bringing peace and safety to the world is exactly what the Antichrist will do.

Why is that? Is it simply because this glorification of Trump has been so incremental, so gradual? After all, Trump wasn’t being called the savior of America just a couple of years back, and he wasn’t promoting himself as the only one to bring world peace even just a few months ago.

It’s almost as if there is a strong delusion raging through Christianity, blinding many from seeing that not only is the man who matches the biblical descriptions for the Antichrist right under their noses, but he’s now promoting himself as savior and the only one to bring world peace.

So my question for those Christians who support Trump is this: What DOES he have to say for you to start getting nervous about him? How much further does he have to go in glorifying himself?

Does he have to proclaim himself as savior of the world before you start getting suspicious of him?

Because if that’s what it takes, he’s just done that.
