Today I was going to do a video on Trump’s $5 million visa gold card, but I’m going to push that off until this weekend because once again there is surreal news regarding this administration.
In what can only be described as a shocking moment in the White House today, President Trump and Vice-President Vance openly berated Ukrainian President Zelensky for not being grateful enough for the U.S.’s help.
A short while later Zelensky left without signing the mineral agreement that the Trump administration insisted upon, leaving the prospects for any peace deal involving the United States completely up in the air.
European media outlets are reporting this as a major win for Vladimir Putin, as once again Donald Trump seems willing to toss aside any past relationship that America had with Europe, or any other American ally, even if it greatly benefits Russia. Or perhaps, because of that.
The Kyiv Independent, which is Ukraine’s English-language media outlet, put it this way in an opinion piece: “A president just disrespected America in the Oval Office. It wasn’t Zelensky.”
What today’s events at the White House did was they revealed Trump for what he really is deep down: he is a man who sees himself as the boss of bosses, demanding that others show him the gratitude and respect that he believes he deserves.
And in fact today was very reminiscent of a scene in the movie The Godfather, where Amerigo Bonasera comes to Vito Corelone, seeking out his help to avenge an attack on his daughter.
After first telling Bonasera that he never sought out his friendship before, Corelone tells him the following: “But you don’t ask with respect. You don’t offer friendship. You don’t even think to call me Godfather.”
Finally, Bonasera relents, calls Corelone the Godfather, and kisses his ring – at which point Corelone agrees to do a favor for Bonasera. Later on in the movie, Corelone will call on Bonasera to return the favor, which Bonasera has no choice but to do.
Trump is no stranger to the mob. His life as a builder in New York City and Atlantic City required him to work closely with unions, which often put him in the company of mafia figures. There were also reports that he was on very friendly terms with some of them, as well.
To simply call Trump a bully is insufficient, because many bullies can be put in their place by someone willing to stand up to them. Some, however, cannot. They are simply bigger and stronger than anyone else.
Such is the case with Trump, because he has the power of America to back him up. So, don’t be surprised if, over the next couple of weeks, Zelensky comes crawling back to the White House, willing to kiss the ring in order to get the help he needs to save his country.
But that is where we are right now. Trump is the Godfather on the world scene, and he will continue to demand respect from anyone and everyone all over the world. And he will get that respect, too, because he has so much leverage.
He has the incredible power of the American military and the American economy behind him – and Trump will use that leverage to make sure that HIS own name is elevated above that of anyone else.
According to the Bible, everyone who opposes the Antichrist will eventually cave in, because no one can fight the beast – and this is exactly what we saw today in the White House.
However, there is one person who CAN fight the beast – and He will actually destroy the beast at his second coming. That person is Jesus Christ. ♦
