The Jewish Mashiach and the Christian Antichrist

For Christians who are interested in bible prophecy, the topic of the Antichrist has long been a fascinating one. A multitude of movies, books and videos are on this topic, with even many atheists being at least somewhat familiar with this figure.

Connected to that interest in the Antichrist is the awareness that Jews are, for their part, looking for their own messiah. And as far as many Christians are concerned, that person will be the Antichrist.

Of course, the REAL messiah of the Jewish people is Jesus Christ, just as He is the messiah of everyone. But since Jews have not, at this time, recognized Jesus as being the messiah who was to come, they are currently looking for someone else to fill that role.

In fact, they are not only looking for their messiah to appear soon, some Jewish rabbis are claiming that he is already here. They are even saying that they’ve held meetings with the messiah, and that he will reveal himself when the time is right.

So, let’s take a look at this a little more in-depth. Who is this messiah that Jewish rabbis are looking for? Is he here right now? And is he the same person as the Antichrist in Christianity?

The Two Messiahs of Jewish Tradition

What many Christians don’t understand is that Jewish tradition actually speaks of two figures, each one called Mashiach, which means anointed one. These two are Mashiach ben Yosef, the suffering servant, and Mashiach ben David, the conquering king.

Mashiach ben Yosef means Mashiach the descendant of Joseph, and he is of the tribe of Ephraim. He is also referred to as Mashiach ben Ephrayim, or Mashiach the descendant of Ephraim. His essential task will be to act as precursor for the final redeemer, Mashiach ben David.

Mashiach ben Yosef will be a political and military leader who will wage war against the forces of evil that oppose Israel. He will also help facilitate the return of all Jewish people back to their homeland, and be involved in the building of the third temple.

Mashiach ben David means Mashiach the descendant of David, and he is of the tribe of Judah. He is the actual redeemer who shall rule in the Messianic age.

Interestingly, some Jewish scholars also hold the position that Mashiach ben Yosef will at some point be killed only to later be resurrected by Mashiach ben David. Upon his resurrection, Mashiach ben Yosef will serve as the assistant to Mashiach ben David.

This, of course, parallels the belief that many Christians have that the Antichrist suffers a deadly wound only to be later healed by the False Prophet. It should noted, however, that the bible tells us that the False Prophet gives life to the IMAGE of the beast, not to the beast himself.

So we have these two figures in Jewish tradition, Mashiach ben Yosef and Mashiach ben David. However when we see the word Mashiach by itself, as in the Jewish Mashiach, it is always referring to Mashiach ben David.

And this brings us to a Jewish figure in the news right now who many Christians are currently wondering might be the Jewish Mashiach – and that person is Rav Shlomo Yehuda Be’eri.

Rav Shlomo Yehuda Be’eri

As many of us are aware, there are a number of videos on YouTube about a young rabbi named Shlomo Yehudah Be’eri, most commonly referred to as Rav Shlomo Yehudah. He is also given the title of Yanuka, meaning that he was a child prodigy in understanding the Torah.

Rav Shlomo Yehudah, now 34 years old, does appear to be a genuine prodigy with the ability to recite the Torah and other religious Jewish texts by heart. And, indeed, he has been doing this since he was a child, making him highly esteemed in certain Orthodox circles.

But what has brought Rav Shlomo Yehudah to the attention of many Christians is that there are also several miracles being attributed to him. Let’s take a look at those miracles.

The miracles

There are at least five miracles attributed to Rav Shlomo Yehudah. These include medical miracles such as a man stating he was in a wheelchair but can now walk; a man stating he had a malignant tumor disappear; and a man who had intestinal pain disappear the day before his scheduled surgery.

There is also a man who states that Rav Shlomo Yehudah told him he would meet his soulmate that very day, which he did, and another man who says that he was miraculously released from prison the day before the Sabbath, just as the Yanuka told him he would be.

Now, in doing research for my videos, I do my best to get to the facts on any given topic, and to always remain objective even if the facts are not entirely clear. And that seems to be the case here.

Objectively speaking, the miracles attributed to Rav Shlomo Yehudah appear to be anecdotal evidence given by individuals who were already supporters of Rav Shlomo Yehudah. They are not, from what I was able to discover, corroborated by independent evidence.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that any of these people are lying, only that the argument by Christians that he is the False Prophet because of these miracles might not be on such solid ground after all.

So why then have so many Christians jumped on board with the idea of Rav Shlomo Yehudah being the False Prophet? It comes down to three main reasons. First, as I just talked about, were the alleged miracles he performed.

Second, there are posters and signs in New York City stating that the Jewish messiah is here, which Christians took to mean was a reference to Rav Shlomo Yehudah, the rabbi who is claimed to have performed miracles. But this is not correct.

The posters in New York City are NOT referring to Rav Shlomo Yehudah, but actually Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, who died in 1994. Many of his followers believed, and still believe to this day that he was the Mashiach, the messiah the Jews have been waiting for.

Over the years, his followers have taken it upon themselves to try and promote this idea to other Jews by posting signs with his picture and the word “messiah” next to it.

Christians are thus confusing two different rabbis: one who was born in 1988 and who is a master of the Torah and who has supposedly performed miracles, with a different rabbi who died in 1994 and whose followers believe him to be the Mashiach. These are two different individuals.

The third reason that many Christians have jumped on board with the idea the Rav Shlomo Yehudah is the False Prophet is that many of us are so anxious for the rapture to happen, that we are constantly looking for signs that the Antichrist or False Prophet is about to be revealed.

And one of those signs would certainly be the Jewish community announcing that their messiah is here, because he would be attached in some way to the Christian Antichrist or False Prophet.

There are, of course, Christians who do nothing but look for signs of an imminent rapture, but in this case they are not only confusing two different rabbis, but they are accepting the alleged miracles by Rav Shlomo Yehudah as fact, when they are anecdotal evidence at best.

The truth is that there are very few Jews who are speaking about Rav Shlomo Yehudah as a messiah, and this idea is being MUCH more promoted among Christians than within the Jewish community or throughout Israel.

In fact, you can find a number of YouTube videos by our Jewish friends who will explain that Rav Shlomo Yehudah is NOT being talked about as a Mashiach in their communities, but that it’s a matter of how Christians misunderstand how Jews view the Mashiach.

Several of those videos also make it clear that IF the Jewish people actually believed that the Mashiach was here, it would be widely announced in Israeli media as well as being agreed upon by the vast majority of Jewish rabbis. It would be worldwide news.

And so it seems that the idea that Rav Shlomo Yehudah is the Jewish Mashiach is not correct. It does, however, bring to light how the Jewish community is looking for two end-times figures to usher in the messianic age. And, as a matter of fact, some in Israel do believe that one of them is here right now.

Is the Mashiach here right now?

As I talked about a few moments ago, one of the two figures in Jewish tradition is Mashiach ben Yosef. He is of the tribe of Ephraim, however Ephraim does not symbolize a modern nation, but instead represents the 10 tribes of Israel.

Thus, when Jewish rabbis look for a current figure to fulfill the role of Mashiach ben Yosef, they see him as coming from the 10 tribes, and perhaps even being a righteous gentile. He will be a political and military leader, and is even involved in building the 3rd temple.

There have been numerous Jewish rabbis who have stated in recent years that the messiah is on earth right now, he has been identified, and some have even said they’ve been in conversation with him, and he is soon going to make himself known. Who could they be referring to?

In looking for someone who might be Mashiach ben Yosef, a number of rabbis have settled on none other than Donald J. Trump, as they see him as not only a political leader fighting for Israel, but even believe that the numerology of his name matches that of the Hebrew word for messiah.

There are also Jewish scholars who have expected the messiah’s arrival to be on the Jewish calendar in the year 5777 which translates to a period between 2016–2017. This, of course, corresponds to Trump winning the 2016 election and taking office in 2017.

While the evidence for Rav Shlomo Yehudah being the Jewish Mashiach or the Christian False Prophet is pretty thin, there are more and more Jewish rabbis who ARE warming up to the idea that Mashiach ben Yosef is none other than Donald J. Trump.

Thus, we not only have a situation where the bible’s descriptions of the Antichrist perfectly match Trump, we also have Jewish rabbis looking at Trump as possibly being Mashiach ben Yosef, the one who will help usher in the messianic age.

On top of that, there are also Jewish rabbis who have looked into whether Trump himself might be descended from King David, as that would mean he is Mashiach ben David. So either way, there are a number of Jewish rabbis who are anxious to connect Trump to one of the two Mashiachs.

As I said a few moments ago, there are rabbis who claim to have been in conversation with the messiah, and that he will reveal himself soon. Is it possible that Trump is the person they were referring to? And that when Trump sits in the 3rd temple he will claim to be the Jewish Mashiach?

Some of the details might not be clear right now, but it appears that the two men that Jews eventually identify as Mashiach ben Yosef and Mashiach ben David will correspond to the two men that Christians identify as the Antichrist and the False Prophet.

And we have seen over the past few years how Trump is widely accepted and even beloved by Israel, and how Jewish rabbis are now beginning to view him as their Mashiach ben Yosef or possibly even Mashiach ben David.

Finally, although the evidence for Rav Shlomo Yehuda being the False Prophet is rather weak, the evidence for Trump being the Antichrist is extraordinarily strong. Because of that, whoever the False Prophet turns out to be, he will have a connection to Donald J. Trump.

Let us remember the prophesy of Jesus, when he said: “I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.” The one who was to come in his own name and be accepted is Donald J. Trump.
