Musk Controls Federal Payments

So, a couple of days ago I did a video which covered the article on Wired.com about how several young tech geniuses were basically helping Elon Musk take over the Federal government infrastructure.

Well, if that wasn’t scary enough, WIRED published an update to this story earlier today, and it’s even worse than we thought. Here are a couple of quotes.

“A 25-year-old engineer named Marko Elez, who previously worked for two Elon Musk companies, has direct access to Treasury Department systems responsible for nearly all payments made by the US government, three sources tell WIRED.”

“Elez’s privileges include the ability not just to read but to write code on two of the most sensitive systems in the US government: The Payment Automation Manager (PAM) and Secure Payment System (SPS) at the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS).”

“Housed on a top-secret mainframe, these systems control, on a granular level, government payments that in their totality amount to more than a fifth of the US economy.”

“Sources say Elez… has many administrator-level privileges. Typically, those admin privileges could give someone the power to log into servers through secure shell access, navigate the entire file system, change user permissions, and delete or modify critical files.”

“That could allow someone to bypass the security measures of, and potentially cause irreversible changes to, the very systems they have access to.”

“‘You could do anything with these privileges,’ says one source with knowledge of the system, who adds that they cannot conceive of a reason that anyone would need them for purposes of simply hunting down fraudulent payments or analyzing disbursement flow.”

The article gives more information, and I’ll post a link to it below, but it is truly something to worry about. This 25-year-old engineer tied to Elon Musk has admin privileges over the code that controls Social Security payments, tax returns, and more.

Furthermore, not only is Elon Musk a private citizen who wasn’t elected to office, and the richest man in the world, but it’s simply impossible to know what he’s really up to. In just a few days, he has gained extraordinary power over the Federal government infrastructure.

Even worse, the man who has given Musk access to so much power, Donald Trump, doesn’t seem to be interested in restraining him in any way.

Perhaps that is because both Trump and Musk have the same goal in mind, which is to destroy Trump’s enemies, and to give both of them more power and wealth.

Now, a lot of us do rely on Social Security payments, so this is especially alarming news. We need to be aware that we might not be able to count on this income in the near future – or that it may come with strings attached.

So, I’m not giving financial advice, but I think it would be wise for those of us who are able to get away from relying on Social Security as a primary source of income. Or, any government payments, for that matter.

If you can, have some cash on hand in case future payments are interrupted, for whatever reason … and if you haven’t done so, start storing food and water so you have enough to get by for a few months, if need be.
