The Man of Peace and Safety

One of the more famous Bible verses, and a verse that comes up quite often in the comments, is in 1 Thessalonians, and it speaks of how there will be peace and safety before sudden destruction comes. In the King James, the verse reads as follows:

“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:3

Trump Regains Power … Now What

In a result that has stunned many Americans, as well as those watching around the world, Donald Trump not only won the presidency overnight, but appears to have done so in a landslide. He not only won the popular vote, but will likely end up with well over 300 electoral college votes.

Even more, Republicans have seized control of the Senate and are on their way to do the same thing in the House of Representatives. All of this serves to put massive power into the hands of Donald Trump, who has vowed to use it.

The Dark Power of Misinformation

Perhaps the worst aspect of social media is how easily it allows us to stay in our own information bubble. Whatever news article or video we might click on, the algorithms automatically recommend even more of those same type of stories.

Before long, we are living in a world of confirmation bias, as almost all the information we consume on social media serves to reinforce what we already believe. Even worse, these algorithms make it easier for many of us to believe things that are just not true.
