The Devil’s Triangle: Faith, Patriotism and Trump

Hi, everyone, thanks for watching. In today’s video, I want to spend just a few minutes talking about a very disturbing trend in modern Christianity. And by modern Christianity, I mean over the last 5 years or so, since Trump was elected in 2016.

That unfortunate trend in modern Christianity is that many Christians have allowed their faith in Jesus to be polluted with extreme patriotism to the United States, and with an undying loyalty to Donald J. Trump.

And I say polluted for a reason, and that’s because many have taken the purity of the gospel – a perfect message of love and forgiveness, of salvation and eternal life – and poisoned it by mixing in the belief that America is to glorified and Trump is to be idolized.

Many Christians seem to think that God is sitting on his throne in heaven wrapped in an American flag, with an AK47 by his side, and wearing a MAGA hat. To them, patriotism, Trump and their Christian faith are intertwined – and I cannot stress strongly enough how evil this is.

I recognize that many of you will disagree with me about patriotism. But I’m not talking about normal patriotism, the kind you might feel when the United States wins a few gold medals at the Olympics. Or when we’re gazing up at the sky as fireworks explode on the 4th of July, or kneeling at the grave of a loved one who died in service to our country. Or when we simply give thanks to God for being able to enjoy all the freedoms we have.

I’m talking about the kind of extreme patriotism that worships our military. That tells us that America is the moral leader of the world, and that other nations should be subservient to our will. Which preaches that our country is somehow BETTER than others, and that God chose us to lead the world during these end times.

On top of this extreme patriotism, an evil man is being idolized in modern Christianity, and that should be a warning sign to all of us that something is wrong. Very wrong. The bible speaks of a strong delusion in the last days, and it’s difficult to think of a stronger delusion than one which praises such an unapologetic Man of Sin.

I view this mix of faith, patriotism and Trump as a sort of devil’s triangle, designed to poison the true church in the last days. And this devil’s triangle is most noticeable with the emergence of the so-called Patriot Churches, and their satanic teaching that one’s Christian faith should include a pro-America world view.

But it’s also beginning to rise in other, more mainstream churches and denominations. A desire to combine an America-first agenda with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A belief that America is good. That Trump is America, and America is Trump, and that both are part and parcel of preaching the end-times gospel.

And this kind of confused Christianity is all around us today, as on thousands of YouTube videos and in the comments, we have Christians promoting the idea that the Christian faith includes patriotism and loyalty to Donald J. Trump.

Friends, this is wrong, and it’s leading many of us astray. We need to gently remind our brothers and sisters that the Gospel of Jesus should NOT include politics or patriotism. The Gospel of Jesus should NOT be poisoned with glorifying America or idolizing Trump.

Instead we need to embrace the gospel’s perfect message of love and forgiveness, of salvation and of eternal life in the Kingdom of God. We can’t let the enemy poison our faith with the things of THIS world.

That’s all for today. Thanks for watching, and if you care to leave a comment, please do. I’ll talk to you guys soon. ♦
