Ignoring the Bible: The Top 3 Myths About The Antichrist

Hi, everyone, thanks for watching. If you’re like me, you’ve probably seen a number of YouTube videos dealing with bible prophecy and specifically the Antichrist. Many are very well done, and it’s impressive how much time and energy is put into making some of these videos.

I’ve watched quite a number over the years, and occasionally find myself agreeing with the video’s narrator, or at least a portion of what is said. But, more often than not, I don’t. And that’s because there are several major myths about the Antichrist that keep getting repeated over and over again.

Now, there are also a few of what I call “minor myths” about the Antichrist, such as that he will perform miracles or he institutes the Mark of the Beast. Those things are done by the False Prophet, by the way. I won’t be covering those or other minor myths in this particular video.

Instead, I want to talk about the top 3 myths associated with the Antichrist, if only because these 3 seem to be the most prevalent among all the videos on YouTube. And, as such, they have the most potential for leading someone down the wrong road. So, let’s begin.

Myth #1. The Antichrist will be loved by a sinful world

Many videos proclaim that the Antichrist will be loved by most people all around the world. And that this is one of the telltale signs helping to identify who the final Antichrist will be. If someone isn’t loved by most of the world, then he can’t be the Antichrist.

But this is simply not true. The bible does NOT say that the world will love the Antichrist. This myth is promulgated in fictionalized movies such as Left Behind, and other speculative videos and books on end-time prophecy.

These kind of fictionalized accounts will often portray the Antichrist as young, attractive, and exceptionally charismatic to the point where he will be loved by nearly everyone. None of those things are biblical.

The bible DOES say that the Antichrist will be worshiped. But it’s clear from the context that this worship is based on fear, not love. As we read in Revelation 13:4 – “Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?”

In case you’re wondering how anyone could worship something he doesn’t love, it’s not uncommon at all. Down through the centuries we have had MANY religions based on fear, as worshipers were terrified of what calamity might befall them if they DIDN’T worship their pagan god in the proper way.

And political leaders from Alexander the Great to Julius Caesar, from Napoleon to Lenin, and many other kings and emperors were also worshiped out of fear, and not because they were widely loved by their subjects.

This is not to say that some people won’t love the Antichrist, since obviously he will have those who support him in all that he says and does. But the concept that the Antichrist will be loved by the vast majority of people around the world is not taught in the bible.

In fact, IF the vast majority of the world loved the Antichrist, there wouldn’t be a Mark of the Beast. There would simply be no need to enforce the worship of, and loyalty to, the Antichrist if most people were already willing to do so out of love.

Instead of being loved, the Antichrist will be greatly feared. In fact, fear of the Antichrist is tied into the Mark of the Beast. Nearly all people around the world will fear the power of the Antichrist so completely that they will acquiesce to getting his Mark in exchange for being able to buy and sell.

The idea that the Antichrist will be loved by most of the world is a myth. Above anything else, the Antichrist will RULE by fear, and it will be fear – not love – that is the dominant emotion in the last days.
