This Well-Known Bible Verse Gives Us Insight Into the True Nature of the Antichrist

There are many clear descriptions of the Antichrist in the bible – from him coming in his own name, to having the mouth of a lion, to magnifying himself in his heart, to throwing truth to the ground, to denying the Father and the Son, to having a covenant with many.

But while these descriptions of the Antichrist, along with many others, are familiar to most of us, there is yet another well-known bible verse that gives us insight into true nature of the Antichrist – even if on the surface it does not appear to do so.

The verse I’m referring to is 1 Timothy 6:10, which reads as follows in the King James: “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

Obviously, the part of that verse we all know is, “the love of money is the root of all evil,” although other translations will render it as “the love of money is THE root of all KINDS of evil,” or even “the love of money is A root of all kinds of evil.”

However, despite there being a slight variation in how this verse is translated, the basic meaning behind it is clear: the love of money is the root cause of much of the evil in this world. Or, to put it another way, so much of what is sinful can be directly traced back to the love of money.

It’s noteworthy that the bible doesn’t make such a proclamation about any other sin as being at the root of all kinds of evil. Not murder, not lying, not stealing, not lust, nor anything else. It’s specifically the love of MONEY that’s referred to as the root of all kinds of evil.

The love of money can best be defined as greed – an overwhelming desire to possess more than what we need, especially with respect to material wealth. This greed for money is the root cause of so much sin.

It’s this connection between the love of money and sin which brings us directly to the Antichrist. Because, as we know, the Antichrist is called the Man of Sin. He is, for lack of a better description, Sin Incarnate.

You see, the love of money, and all that money brings, is at its heart, a desire for the things of this world – which we as Christians are not to chase after.

Thus it stands to reason that this Man of Sin will have an overwhelming love for money. In fact, he will be all about money, as it is at the core of his being. He will flaunt his wealth, and even talk about how greedy for money he has been.

The verse about the love of money being the root of all kinds of evil is describing the predominant character trait of the Antichrist. He is all about loving money and possessing the things of this world.

First Timothy 6:10 is yet another biblical description of the Antichrist, and just like all the others, it is pointing directly to Donald J. Trump.
